C ame back to my car to find this beast parked next to me. Lifted E350... but wait that’s not just a lift is it...?

Kinja'd!!!

Yep that’s a differential on a big fat solid axle up front. Ford never sold these with 4x4 from the factory so this is an aftermarket conversion. Seeing these lifted and on knobby tires is around here is pretty common but I’ve only ever seen RWD ones. And speaking of the lift and conversion...

Kinja'd!!!

t is riding on Fox shocks, Warn manual front lockers, and K02s. Decent kit there. Pretty awesome adventure rig overall. If I had a place to park a something this big I’d be thinking of getting something like this myself.

This would be much cooler in an actual color. Work van spec just doesn’t work here.

Likely a Quigley conversion, they’ re the biggest of the compani es that do those.

I’m not sure which conversion this is, but Rich Ford (now called Power Ford) in Albuquerque used to always stock a couple of S portsman 4wd conversions on the lot back in the era of this van.

Many of these are old work vans that get converted. Thus the white color scheme.

If something isn’t going to be a colour, imo it should be white. Lets the lines of the design speak for themselves. I agree something cool should be a colour, but thank the lawd it’s not black

I’ve seen a fair number of these, believe it or not - and always at ski areas, used as company rep vans. Like, they drive them up for a demo day or whatever. Usually fully wrapped in company logos. Maybe that explains the white, if this used to be one of those?

Maybe but one of the stickers on the back is local to our small town... I wouldn’t be surprised if it started life a rep van and maybe got sold on.

Around here it seems like most of them (along with lots of lifted Sprinters and NVs) aren’t actually 4x4.  I see more pickups with fancy camper backs when it comes to that.

One of the old timers that used to come here had an aftermarket 4x4 Econoline with a 4BT in it. I don’t have a picture of it anymore - it was burgundy.
